Republic Day 2022 in Warsaw and Gdańsk
Members and friends celebrated the 99th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye in Warsaw, and the Tri-City branch held its first celebration in Gdańsk.
At the end of October 2022 TURKPOL celebrated the 99th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye with members, families and friends in Warsaw.
In Gdańsk the association's Tri-City branch organised its own celebration for members and Turkish residents of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia. The University of Gdańsk choir opened it with the Turkish and Polish national anthems, followed by poetry, live Turkish music and Turkish food. Among the guests were Piotr Grzelak, then Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk, and Mehmet Ali Akdağ, Education Counsellor of the Embassy of Türkiye.
The association hoped the Gdańsk evening would set an example for similar celebrations in other cities.
